It is rare to to find a Macallan Whisky that is completely free from Sherry influence but this is exactly what the Macallan 1990 represents. This excellent malt is the result of maturing in bourbon casks as opposed to the normal trademark sherry casks and this has allowed an orange and citrus character to shine through. In addition many find that this Macallan has a sweet and creamy chocolate taste and a more smokey finish than is usual.

All in all this is well worth getting hold of although you should not hang around as the total output is from only three casks!
