Johnnie Walker
Johnnie Walker is probably the most famous and well known name in the world of whisky with around 150 million bottles consumed each year in over 200 countries. The USA is the biggest market for the brand but it is also very popular in Australia, Greece and Spain. It is a blended whisky being a mixture of around 5 grain whiskies and 30+ malt whiskies.
It all began in Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, Scotland where one, John Walker, started his whisky business in 1820. Going from strength to strength the famous ‘Red Label’ blend was introduced in 1909 – for many years and currently the world’s largest selling Scotch Whisky. Another of the famous blends is ‘Black Label’ the world’s best selling deluxe blended whisky with a mellow but complex mix of around 40 malt whiskies.
